 High Power Transmitters

H6 Systems, Inc. is a manufacturer of high-power RF transmitters and modulators used in commercial and military systems. Our transmitters can be used in radar systems, medical systems and security inspection systems, linear accelerators or for susceptibility testing.

In business since 1980, our company builds high power transmitters and pulsed power RF amplifiers based on magnetrons, klystrons, tetrodes and triodes, with frequencies ranging from 150 MHz to 40 GHz and power ranging into megawatts. We integrate our own modulators with the proper vacuum tube to meet your transmitter needs.

Modulators

High voltage pulse modulators are the power behind H6 high power transmitters. They are designed with the latest technology in IGBTs, pulse transformers and ethernet communication. We pair them with the right tube (magnetron or klystron) to provide you with a reliable transmitter.

Faults, in our modulators, are monitored by a field programmable gate array fault system for high speed results. Pulses can be supplied externally by you or from our onboard pulse generator. Safety limits can be programmed by the operator or here at our factory. Limits include peak current, reflected RF, primary voltage, pulse width, PRF and duty. Controls are accessible through a general user interface, modbus connected ethernet or a d-sub connector.

Transmitters

We pair the right tube with the right modulator to provide you with the frequency, power, pulse width and amplification that you need. (Sorry, no solid state here. It just can’t handle these powers) The vacuum tube types that we use are shown at left.  Magnetrons are less expensive but they don’t amplify and have not instantaneous bandwidth. They are mechanically tuned. Klystrons generally cost more but they can amplify your signal and have some instantaneous bandwidth.
